Starting over in life at a ripe age but only to realize that it was never a brutal transformation, but a continuum of translating meaning from one medium to another
Meaning. Throughout my professional career, I have created meaning through narrative, and for many years, I thought that that was the only medium by which meaning could be created. And when I talk about meaning, I'm not talking about a philosophical, esoteric concept — far from it. I'm talking about certainty, i.e., reality. I had thought, from my experience as a communications professional, that meaning could only have impact through the written and spoken word. And then 2020 happened. Consequently, I learned that spaces create meaning too, and with even more impact than the written and spoken word: spaces, and the design and styling of them, determine the quality of the mental health of the people who inhabit these spaces. With this knowledge and understanding, and passion for style, design, home, and sanctuary, I have boldly and assertively claimed my role as a curator of meaning within the interior design world.
